1-5 units (to bet on dogs, to win on favs)

Went 1-2, +1.00u yesterday and hope to at least turn around on the record and have another winning day. It's not much to choose from in soccer, but we got two big hockey semis to play out tonight...

Schalke 04 vs Borussia Dortmund (GER, Bundesliga)
Schalke had a great chance on cutting the lead of the top two teams in their last game, but the 1-0 lead ended up as a 1-2 loss @Wolfsburg. Except from that game they have shown great form with a 3-2-0 record in their last 5...

Schalke had a great chance on cutting the lead of the top two teams in their last game, but the 1-0 lead ended up as a 1-2 loss @Wolfsburg. Except from that game they have shown great form with a 3-2-0 record in their last 5 games while winning all of their last 6 home matches.
Their squad is looking good on the injury front and should get Westermann back from injury while Rafinha is back from a suspension.
Dortmund is number 5 in the standing 6 pts behind Schalke, but they're in a bit of a slump right now. After winning 6 in a row and pushing for a medal, they lost 3 in a row before winning 4-1 vs "weak-side" Hannover whos currently on a 16th place with a relegation on their doorstep.  For this game, Dortmund gonna miss Barrios who on a suspension.

Schalke -0.5 (+100) 2.0u

USA vs Finland
Everyone is now talking big-time about the possible USA vs Canada matchup, and even though I'm not one of them yet, I see it happens.
Finland made it this far, but compared to the teams USA has face they Finns have had a easy trip to the semis as their faced Belarus (5-1 W), Germany (5-0 W), Sweden 0-3 L) and Czech (2-0 W). Meanwhile USA have faced some strong teams, even the "before-Olympic-weak side" Norway showed that their no pushovers during this tournament after almost beating both Swiss and Slovakia (who's now in the semi-finals...). Other than Norway who they by the way beat 6-1 they'v been up against a strong defensive team with a red hot goalie in Swiss and Hiller x2 (3-1 and 2-0) and Canada  (5-3 win) who's now in the game vs Russia finally showed why they were favored for the Olympic gold. With the play of Miller I see Finland struggles to score as their not exactly an offensive power-house while USA should manage to put at least 1 past Kipper as they've yet to get shut out during this tournament. I also can see this game go under, but things might open up here with a early goal to either teams, so I'm staying away

USA reg (+100) 4.0 Stars and Stripes

Canada vs Slovakia
I'm not going to write anything about the sides in this one, as I got Canada in a future bet + don't like to lay a spread of the -2.5 size during the knockout stages even though I'm leaning that way...
But one play I like is the o5.5 even though it's juiced at -150.
With Halaks performance so far this tournament, I don't see him fare better than Nabokov did yesterday. And when you add Canada's inability to shut the door on defense whoever their playing in my honest opinion, you can at at least 1 more there - but I want to say 2.
Canada have been in high scoring games during the whole tournament and need no explanations, but also Slovakia have been running the goal count up in both directions.
Before Wednesdays game Lundquist had yet to let up a goal in this tournament, but what did Slovakia do - just putting 4 behind him with 2 of them during a 10 sec span...
Slovakia opened up the tournament with two straight under, but their last 3 have all hit the over.

Canada vs Slovakia o5.5 (-150) 7.5 maple syrups

Well, I love both games for today with Swiss vs Norway in the first and Canada vs Sweden in the second...
Norway vs Swiss
In my opinion its two teams that belongs in another divsion from the rest, and Norway is one of them. The two teams have faced each other previous in the tournament where Norway got an easy 7-4 win. Norway lost a close one they should have won vs Sweden and a close one vs the team that is my fav to win the gold in Canada. Elswhear they'v beaten USA, Germany, China, Denmark, France...

Elswhear they'v beaten USA, Germany, China, Denmark, France and Britain who's in my opinion the 3rd strongest team in the tournament even tho they got knocked out in the tie-breaker game vs Sweden. Also, Norway have been improving from game to game and should now be at their strongest point of the tournament -- that might be reflected in their two strong wins to end the round-robin with 9-2 over France and 9-5 vs USA.  Swiss manage to take the 3rd seed after beating Denmark, USA, Britain, China, Sweden and France while losing to Norway Canada and Germany. I see Norway taking this one by 2 pts...

Canada vs Sweden

Well, Canada have crused trough the round-robin matches and won all 9 of their games while Sweden needed a tie-breaker vs Britain after going 5-4 in their previous matches... I just can't see Canada have any troubles with Sweden who manage to come here cause of a realy poor preformence by Britain. I see Canada yet again cruises to a easy 4-5 pts win here and a Norway vs Canada matchup in the finale...

Norway/Canada 2-Teamer (-135) for 5 stones *POD*

Roma vs Panathinaikos (Europa League)

Roma is riding a 2-3 1st leg loss into this one and yeah they need a goal, but only 1 as if they do win 1-0 they'll go trought to the next round on away goals and I think they just gonna safe their way trought if they get a 1-0 lead. Also both Romas top offenive producers is out for this one in star striker Toni and key playmaker Totti. Also Roma should be the strongest team in this one, but I see them struggle to score on a Panathinaikos team that is trying to ride their 3-2 win here...

Roma vs Panathinaikos game under 2.5 (-105) for 1.5 Legions

Wolfsburg vs Villareal

With a 2-2 tie form their first leg in Spain, things is looking good for Wolfsburg. Their out of both the German cup and contention for top 3 in the league and can focuse all on this tournament. In their last game they manage to turn 0-1 into a 2-1 win vs a stong Schalke team and their team is healty. Villareal struggles back in Spain and after the 2-6 loss to Real Madrid their 29 pts behind the league leader and 9 pts from relegation. In this tournament Villareal got only 1-0-2 on the road and is missing some key-players in Cazorla, Marcano and Rossi....

Wolfsburg -0.5 (+105) for 2.5 Volkswagen's

Best of luck to all
